February 2026 Reading Wrap-Up: 8 Books Read (Fantasy + Romantasy Recap)

February came in hot! And by “hot,” I mean eight books finished and a reading mood that bounced between witty villain chaos, swoony romantasy tension, and the kind of fantasy atmosphere that makes you want to light a candle and dramatically stare out a window.

The 8 Books I Read in February 2026

1) Apprentice to the Villain

Best for: witty fantasy, banter, “villain energy but make it fun.”
If January was my warm-up, February was the moment the villain-adjacent chaos really settled in. This one keeps the tone clever and quick, and it’s a great pick when you want fantasy vibes without emotional devastation.

2) Accomplice to the Villain

Best for: readers who love returning characters + more of the same humor-forward fantasy tone.
Sometimes you want a book that feels like sliding back into a familiar world, and this absolutely hits that “comfort read, but still entertaining” sweet spot.

3) My Funny Demon Valentine

Best for: light, playful paranormal-ish vibes with romantic tension.
This one is for the mood where you want fun first. It's easy to binge, easy to recommend, and perfect for February reading energy.

4) The Bond That Burns

Best for: romantasy readers who live for bond tension, drama, and emotional stakes.
This is the kind of book that makes you read faster because you need answers. If you love intense connection tropes and high emotion, put it on your list.

5) War of Fire and Fury

Best for: big stakes, high heat conflict, and action-forward fantasy energy.
This one has “everything is escalating” vibes! Ideal if you love stories that feel cinematic and intense. This wrapped up the series in the BEST way!

6) A Court This Cruel and Lovely

Best for: romantasy with court intrigue + danger + swoon.
If you love the “courts” subgenre, this one fits beautifully into a February wrap-up: romance tension + political tension is a classic combo for a reason.

7) The Wren in the Holly Library

Best for: cozy-gothic atmosphere, moody pages, and readerly aesthetics.
This one felt like an aesthetic read, in the best way. If you love books that feel like a place (libraries, secrets, shadows), this is worth a spot on your TBR. If you haven't read it yet and are looking for the BEST month to read it, I recommend December. The Winter solstice is a prominent date in this book.

8) The Robin on the Oak Throne

Best for: folklore-tinged fantasy vibes, nature imagery, and “enchanted woods” mood reading.
This rounded out the month with a more atmospheric, fairy-tale-adjacent feel. It's perfect if you like your fantasy with a little mythic softness around the edges. Good second in this series.

My February Reading Themes (What I Clearly Was In the Mood For)

Looking at this list, February had three very obvious lanes:

Villain-adjacent humor (I am not fighting it anymore)

Romantasy tension and bonds (because February)

Moody, nature-and-library atmosphere with monsters (the cozy winter hangover)

This is your reminder that the best way to hit a yearly reading goal is to let yourself read in seasons, not just months. Your mood will change, so go with it! Your TBR will still be there!

What’s Next: March TBR + Reading Challenge Momentum

With 12 books read so far, I’m pacing well for my 30–40 book goal, and heading into March, I’m leaning into bigger plots and a few “stretch reads” to keep things interesting.
